Hunting with the Backlight chassis

When I was 16 years old, I put on a bucket list of 50 things to do in life “Kill a caribou”. I finally crossed it off this week.

Even cooler, I got to take the Backlight chassis to use on the hunt, which was just awesome.

I spent 10 days out last year and didn’t get one. This year, it was the afternoon of day 9 when I finally got my chance.

Sooo glad to be back to civilization. It was frigid cold. Spent two days locked in the tent because of heavy rain. Filtering water from a mud puddle. But I finally got the chance!

Was a 400 yard shot. I used my custom 7 PRC with a Bartlein barrel and the Federal load with 175 ELDX

Congratulations!!

Congrats, Jim. I bet that felt so good. Also it makes me happy to see you use the 7PRC for that hunt

Congratulations! I am very happy that you crossed it off the list AND were able to use one of your creations to achieve your goal. Outstanding

That’s awesome congrats!
