I have not fired my new rifle and thought running a bore scope through it would be insightful… and boy was it. (Also the first time using a borescope)
Wouldn’t mind getting y’all’s thoughts on a few things :
- is the orange/brown copper fouling?
- is that the dreaded “carbon ring” in the chamber. Are those burs in the chamber also?
- is it normal for a brand new rifle to be delivered uncleaned like this? I suppose it might make sense if the tested the rifle before shipping.
- I was half way down the barrel with the borescope when I had a thought… might the camera/ rod it’s attached cause damage to the rifling while sliding it through? It’s a stainless steel barrel so it would surprise me but I read a lot of posts about people doing damage to their barrels by cleaning etc…
