So, the wife and i were walking the pasture today and came across a bull moose and his lady…they took off so fast, ive never seen something so big move like that, and clear fence.

We kept dollowing the fence line until we heard the coyote pack weve been looking for. Then, out if the blue, i hear a grunt.

We turn around, and there, as big as life, is another bull moose.
He was huge. Tiniest paddles, not the 6 footers like the earluer guy. He looked like had a small hat on LOL

Range finder… 118 yards
I backed off to 168
Then 270

He kept.coming.
And gere i am with a 22-250… lol guess its a headshot.

I fired off a warning shot… didnt.move
Fired a shot right at his feet… didnt move
Finally, i put his face in my crosshairs and was like, please dont make.me kill you dude.

I backed off to about 400 yards and then he finally stopped coming.

Ive never seen anyrhing like that.

Guess my next walk, im bringing the 30-60.

I was less than 5 yards in a cedar swamp in Northern Maine from a big bull moose with a single barrel Savage 410 with rabbit shot. We locked eyes, I started backing up slowly hoping I wasn’t going to have to blind that big monster. He didn’t move I guess. I made distance quick when I was out of his eyesight. Kid hunting alone…
