I got my deer tag for unit 1. My number was 27458. There are only 660 NR deer tags for this unit. My friend had a number around 7500. They got the tag with 500 left. At first it moved slowly and I estimated 90 hrs to get to me but it kept accelerating from 60 an hour like 10000 an hour. So took me 1 hr and 45 minutes to get to my tag and 300 left in that unit. So IDFG has a problem with their queue website. People have many many sessions opened and use the one with the best lowest number. Then they abandon all the rest. So me at 27500 is probably really at 2750 or less. They should just have a draw system like any other tag that we try to get. They have the system in place. Only allow non- res apps with a 1st and 2nd choice. Same random odds for the applicants - same as when I put in for any other restricted tag amount in a unit. I don’t understand.
My heart sank when I saw this. Totally intended to grab an Idaho tag and completely forgot it!! Doh! Hopefully I’ll draw something Idaho. Can’t believe I missed it.

Sorry to hear. Like you said in podcast almost have to take time off work. Fortunately I have a desk job and had it opened in a window and just kept an eye on it.
Plus this system makes it really hard for families or friends that want to hunt together. Share expenses and driving and packing out are problems when you go by yourself. Plus the experiences of it all. Az and others have the same issue for some hunts. They could address this with the draw system. How do we influence them to change it?
Last year i was at the idfg office in boise for the tag sale dec 1st. The line was moving so so slow. Finally they told us the were letting the online customers go 1st.
Such bullshit.

They gave us some sort of ticket. It was stupid.
I stood in line for couple of hours and then the anounced they were doing the online people before us.
