Is the Sig Cross PRS version in 6.5 CM a good choice?

I’m very new to your membership so I hope I’m not overstepping my bounders, but I would like your opinion on the Sig Cross PRS in 6.5 Creedmoor. It appears to be very similar to the Sig Cross your son has but with a 24” barrel. With the longer barrel do you think that will help the weapon handle ammo that can be bought over the counter? I don’t want to invest in reloading at this time. Hope to hear back from you or other members on this matter. Thanks in advance, Thomas

That’s a tough call because there are some great rifles in that category. This is for a precision rifle only, and not for hunting right? These are big heavy comp guns we’re talking about.

You could buy a Bergara Premier competition for the same price. Shot four 5-shot groups with mine yesterday using Hornady Match 140gr and the average group size was 0.534.

But that’s not all. There’s also the Tikka Ace Target. It’ll save you a few hundred dollars and is phenomenally accurate in 6.5 Creedmoor. Very much on par with a custom competition rifle.

There’s also the AERO Solus Competition. Great deal as well and very accurate.

I think my choices would be (in order): 1 Tikka Ace Target, 2 Bergara Premier Comp, 3 Sig Cross PRS, and 4 Solus but it’s still a fantastic rifle.

None of these are bad or even mediocre guns. All should be excellent.

Thanks for posting that deal. @quickfishing $1249 for that rifle is absolutely insane. I bought one.

Oh I want one so bad…. But putting my cash towards my 7mm-08 Tikka build and backfire cassis

Did you go with 6 or the 6.5?

Decided on the 6.5 for the barrel life. We are going to do some long range schools at our range and it’d be a perfect school gun.

Thanks for the link! I ordered the aero solus light weight action with .478 bolt face to start a 22 creedmoor build. Now I just need to decide which barrel I want. What twist rate would you recommend? I see Sami spec is 1-8 but I’ve seen guys saying that doesn’t stabilize the heavier 80gr bullets very well for accuracy.

I have the ruger gen 2 22 creedmoor it comes with a 1/7.7 barrel twist, and I shoot the Nosler 85 grain match incredible groups
