Jim I am looking to build a 6.5 prc can you give me thoughts on an action and barrel I want it skeletonized

Jim I want to build a 6.5 prc but I don’t know what to do for an action or barrel can you steer me in the right direction

What’s the budget for this build?

I just shot my new Springfield waypoint 20/20 6.5 prc for the first time yesterday I was going to build but decided this was kinda similar for less money it’s extremely accurate right out of the box I love it

Whatever the budget - action, barrel and trigger are where you should not skimp. You can find chassis used or cheap (like aerodyne). I see used chassis for sale on Rokslide all the time.

I was going to build off of a Tica action. There’s so many options now especially with Berra‘s rifle actions

4000 or more I looked at the savage. 110 precision not sure it is very good. I have been looking at a barrel around 600 to 1000 and a Borden action but I am new to this and would like some help

Since you said you want skeletonized, I’m guessing this is for a lightweight hunting rifle. That being the case, I’d go for a Defiance Anti X and a Proof Research prefit carbon fiber barrel.

The advantage of this action is that it’s compatible with prefits so you won’t need a gunsmith at all.

I want a bench gun I am a lefty I have a begara 7 prc that is my hunting rifle I also have a bergara 6.5 creed Moore that I love

I am here in bluffdale so I am in utah it has to be a bench gun I have a hard time walking I got hit head on by a semi 9 years ago.
So I use a bog tripod and a shooting chair

If it’s a bench gun then I would not pick a skeletonized action.

Impact 737R action and a Bartlein barrel chambered by Stuteville. Unbeatable accuracy.

Thank you for talking to me I know that you are busy

Are they that much better than buying one done

Redhawk Rifles is now selling barreled actions with a variety of barrel/action makers.

Yes, it’s a completely different world. The rifles we have built are far better than the factory guns.

since i tend to throw out all my stocks and do aftermarket i go this route alot of times.
