Seems like these incidents are becoming more frequent, please stay aware. Jim, I know in your latest podcast you mentioned wanting to go to Montana on a spring bear hunt.
I was in Wyoming for an elk hunt in 2021 and bears and bear tracks were everywhere. Kind of unnerving when you are sleeping in a wall tent
This reminds me of a story my wife tells about growing up in Alaska: her family was out camping down on the Kenai, she is maybe 5 years old at this time, and she looks out of their tent and then turns to her parents: “Mommy, Daddy, look! There is a man in a bear suit out there!” (Of course, it was an actual bear).
Your odds of encountering a grizzly are less than a plane crash unless of course you are in griz country- then your odds increase a lot. Your odds of encountering a great white are so low - unless you are diving in shark waters - then your odds increase a lot. Your odds of getting ebola are low unless … well you get the idea.
Yep……. and I’ve made it a point to never enter someone else’s food chain. “If you look like food, you will be eaten.” That applies to environs populated with feral people.
