Cool ! Love it!

Be sure to post some groups, and I’d love to hear your opinion on that scope.

I’m debating getting a “fun gun” this year. Really don’t need another hunting rifle.

That is so assume. Me and my boys both started down this road with the same gun and about the same set up. That gun will shoot good enough to allow you to compete at a national level. I still shoot a stock Bergara in a Manners stock that i started with 4 years ago. The Bergara took the three of us to countless NRL22 and pro series matches, and even a few National championship matches and gave us a lifetime of memories. I just placed a order last night to go further down the rabbit hole like my sons.I am having Alta Arms custom build a 22lr but will always hold on to my Bergara for a fun gun. Enjoy the gun it will be a blast.

Attached is a pic of my boys current guns and where I am headed next. It is always a good day when you are pulling a trigger does not matter the caliber. Enjoy the journey.

These guns look great!

I watched some retired gentlemen shooting exceptionally nice .22LR at the range a few weeks ago. They were shooting at 150 and 200 yards. They shot hundreds of rounds and had a blast for little money. It made be think about getting a nice .22 LR to try and stretch it out.

What type of scopes do you use for this application? Would it be the same scope as you put on a 6mm competition rifle?

I went with a 5-25x56 just like I run on all my other rifles.
I stretched it out to 400 yards and ran about 150 rounds through it. So much fun for $36 worth of high end ammo! Can’t do that with a long gun!!

Those are some awesome rigs David!!!
I traded for a custom rig built off a CZ action that I’m going to put my daughter behind in a couple years. She’s still not strong enough to transition with it.

I would say yes. As long as you have a way to dial elevation you will enjoy the day at the range. We stated with 5-25 strike eagles and they did everything we needed to have fun with it. There are alot of options and it is hard to say when the upgrade is worth it. Currently my boys are running the Vortex Razor Gen 3 as they have exceptional field of view. I run the Burris XTR Pro. It’s turret cap that you can remove and write on is a game changer for me. You can also get tape to write on for most models now as well but you have to do it on the firing line.

Update:
She’s shooting great for the first 300 rounds! It’s throwing down some nice groups out to 300 yards unless the wind gets me.
I don’t know if it’s the scope or gun or ammo but the ballistic calculations are about 1/2 minute high vs true until I get to 300 yards and then it comes into alignment. At 400 my groups open up too much for me to really tell what is happening.
