Let’s talk triggers

Hey everyone. I just wonder what your preferences are as far as triggers go and why*

Curved vs flat trigger?

Single stage vs two stage?

It seems this is definitely a personal preference thing, which makes it a difficult thing to choose when you’re pursuing an upgrade for your rifle.

So what do you like? and most importantly can you tell me why?

I prefer 2 stage triggers because I find they serve me well. When I change OEM trigger out of AR or bolt rifle, I go with the LaRue Tactical MBT-2S Trigger because it is a very good trigger @ a good price (pre-Bidenomics).

I like a flat blade 2-stage trigger set at 1.75 pounds. For me, it’s perfect. As far as brand, I honestly don’t notice much difference between the premium brands like Timney and Triggertech.

I know a lot of competition shooters seem to prefer flat triggers, but honestly I could never get used to it. Your finger is not flat, it is round. A well curved trigger hugs the curves of your natural contours. Plus, it is the style of trigger I used since first learning to shoot as a little kid. Maybe that’s all there is to it? I don’t know, but I can’t get into flat.

For single stage, I like the Geissele SSP(flat). For 2 stage, a Geissele SSA-E (curved)

Thank you and that is good reasoning.

I think my draw to flat is I have large-ish hands and I feel the trigger sits too far to the rear in the trigger guard and my thought is a flat would would put the trigger in a more natural location for my finger. But that’s how I “feel” currently and I don’t have a way to test my theory without buying an expensive trigger haha.
