Loktite on muzzle breaks?

Good morning everyone. The Tikka Manual says Its advisable to put 278 Loktite on the threads for a muzzle break for holding. That is Green high temp seems like it wont ever come off . Do any of you even use locktite. On all of my clays guns I tighten by hand and re tichten chokes over time. Might be different . Id think It would be better to jsut tighten every 20 shots or after a session so thoughts?

I bought some roksett for use on mine but never ended up using it. Sometimes its tough getting certain brands off even without an adhesive, especially those with a secondary screw in back plate, not so much the solid one piece ones.

I use Rockset, or nothing. Rockset is what Surefire recs for their brakes. It holds well, but if you ever decide you want to take it off just a quick overnight soak in water gets it loose. I’ve read other people can get it Loose after just 2 to 3 hours of soaking in water

Tried red loctite once. It was an absolute bear to get off. I can’t imagine using green at all.

If you’re going to go with nothing at all, having a good torque wrench and torquing it on to 20 to 30 ft lb often will hold things perfectly fine

I don’t use anything on the threads for my Tikka. I did have the brake come loose once when the rifle was new. It was after 20 rounds or so. I retightened it and haven’t had any issues since, but I do recheck periodically.

I use vibratite. Helps keep things on but not terrible to remove.

Thanks all the factory break doesn’t have a way to use a torque wrench they say in the manual that one should hand tighten and use the green if I was going to put a good muzzle break on this what would you recommend I saw sure fire being thrown around love their lights

How does It hold up to heat I use It all the time on optics

I use anti-seize on mine so i can get them off. Havn’t had an issue with them coming loose.

Are there any pro tips on getting brakes timed? Drives me crazy!

Haven’t had any issues

A non-self-timing brake?

All the washers and my perfectionism to get it all level make me nuts. Using Dead Air brakes and usually just cover it with a can so I don’t have to look at it.
