I Seen Springfield announced a long action for the waypoint and was curious what everyone’s opinions are of it. Personally I don’t have any experience with the previous short action ones but everyone that has, seems the majority have been very happy with them. Noticed they are offering it in 7mm rem mag, 300 win mag, 300prc, 30-06, 270 win and 7prc… I myself am quite interested in the 30-06 or 7prc.
I took a look at those yesterday. It looks like it is very comparable to the Bergara Crest Carbon, but for $600 more on MSRP ($800 more than what you can find the Bergara for). Not sure the value is there at that price, but I can’t find one bad review so the gun is premium. What the LA does tell me is that Sprinfield Arms believes they have a winner in this platform so we should start seeing some variants at a lower price point, maybe without the adjustable comb…
I saw this as well and recalled Jim’s review of the SA Waypoint a couple of years ago. He said it was an incredible rifle. I believe had had it in 6.5 CM. I’m stoked that they are finally making these in LA. Been wanted a 7mm PRC and this will be my Bday gift this year. @backfire - any chance you’ll review a LA on the YT channel? Would like to see if it performs as well as the SA. SA is also offering a free rimfire Waypoint with the purchase of a centerfire. 2 rifles for price of one!

I don’t have any contacts at Springfield to get one in but looks like it would be a good gun.
However, the field has really changed with now many carbon stock rifles from several companies in this price range now.
