Joined this community this year and it’s really been a God send for me. I wasn’t raised to hunt, but chose this way of life in my 30s. Y’all have a been a great resource and I’m very appreciative.

Awesome. I was hunting with my father since I could walk. He passed this year at 84. The tradition carries on and soon I will be taking the grandchildren.
IMO it becoming harder to keep interest- video games and social media creates an expectation of instant gratification without any effort or pain and suffering. Getting up early when it is freezing out, climbing hills and going all day without seeing something is hard compared to our screens.
But my kids are good at controlling this for my grandchildren and I am optimistic about the future with them.

Merry Christmas to all! Like you Ben, I wasn’t raised hunting. I always wanted to growing up, but my dad was not an outdoorsman. I started shooting when I was in my 20’s, but chose this life about 8 years ago. I just turned 53, so I have some catching up to do. I am also very appreciative of this community.

Same here, started to hunt in my 30’s when I move to Yukon,
Its pretty nice to have a place to be able to chat about that kind of stuff with nice and open peoples
