Milk jug challenge >>> range finders

I recently had struggles with my range finder and was thinking I’d like to upgrade - haven’t decided between stand alone or binos. But, then I thought about the milk jug challenge and the issues with the shooters also struggling to get consistent ranges and thought this might provide another learning opportunity.

Jim, any chance you’re capturing relative performance of different range finders that you could share as a real-life head to head competition for different devices?

I would appreciate a recommendation either way from anyone with experience but also thought I’d mention this as possible additional content I’d be interested in.

Thx!

I have used Bushnell, Vortex, and Leupold range finders. All of them gave me a slightly different range (plus or minus 2 yards) out to 500 yards. I have taken the Leupold out further, about 1,000 yards and it appears to be the most accurate.

I’m evaluating a few of them right now but so far I’m liking the Burris LRP. Rangefinding binos, to me, are much easier since you’re zoomed in.
