Mossberg Patriot

So I purchased a Mossberg patriot before they had the bad reputation that they have now. I want to get rid of it but I am having a hard time selling it (for obvious reasons). I am now considering just building off it. If I put a chassis on it would it shoot better? Or a Boyd’s wood stock? I don’t want to get $400 deeper into a gun that is just a bad gun and can’t be improved. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to hear yours isn’t shooting well for you. I know some people get a good one, but I’m in the same boat as you.

Unfortunately, few stock/chassis companies offer inoetting for a Mossberg Patriot so you may find some challenges building on it. Boyd’s is a solid bet though.

I have heard from several people who glass bedded their patriots and had better results so I wouldn’t be surprised if the new stock worked. However, there really is no way to know until you plunk down the money. I’d hate for you to throw good money at bad.

I didn’t think about bedding the current stock. Maybe I’ll try that before I do anything. Thanks Jim!
