Muzzle Brake for 6.5 PRC

Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m interested in buying a CVA 6.5 PRC, but the one I like most does not have a muzzle brake. It does have a threaded barrel though so I can buy one. When I looked online, the only muzzle brake I can find is for a 7mm. Any idea if this brake can/should be used on the 6.5 caliber rifles as well, or an I missing something? Thanks for any tips or advice!

If the muzzle brake is designed specifically for 7 mm, it should work fine for a 6.5 mm rifle. Just make sure the thread pitch is correct for your specific barrel.

Haven’t looked around for brakes lately, but never heard of a specific 7 mm model. Mine are all 223 for the AR’s, 308 which are used for 24 caliber all the way up through 30 caliber, and 338 for obviously the 338.

You can just get a 7mm or 30 cal muzzle brake. You won’t see much difference buying for the specific caliber.

Thanks, Carter! This is helpful!

Thanks, Jim. Loving having this community of people to bounce questions off of. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

I use 30 caliber breaks and supressor on everything down to 223. One size fits all
