So I’m going to need a new rangefinder. I have had the sig kilo 2k(?) For probably 7 plus years and it will not range in low light and has been miss ranging targets.
I’m leaning leupold but open for suggestions.
Be aware Leopoldo doesn’t have lifetime warranty on rangefinder’s like they do with everything else. Mine quit working and I found out the hard way. They will offer a sale price for a new one is all you can expect
This is great information. I like alot of leupold products but I’m not a brand hoe i like stuff that works. I’m honestly considering a sig again. 7 years or more for 200 bucks
i can’t really complain.
I beat it up pretty good to.
We used the Bushnell Engage 1700 Hunting Laser Rangefinder at a long range shooting class and it worked wonderfully. They hold classes in all kinds of weather and conditions and the classes are every week from April through August. They are definitely put through their paces
Expensive, but I made the leap for rangefindijg binos and it would be hard to go back. I’m mostly using the Burris. $1k
Jim i imagine the binos would be easier to aquire target and probably more stable.
Do you chest carry or mount to a tripod?
Thanks patrick I will check into the bushnell line maybe they have rangefinder binoculars like him suggested as well
Not hard to find the Sig 5000 for around $600. I’m not sure if they’re any good. I have also seen the Vortex Furys Non AB for around $700. I have those and they are good. However, if I were to buy RF Binos again, I would 100% be looking at AB RF Binos. Its one less thing to factor in the process during the hunt. When a Elk tag is about $850, makes sense to me to save a little longer and get the tools that give you the best chance to be successful.
I still think a stand alone RF has it place. Especially if you’re 200 yards an in with a Lever, Muzzle Loader, Archery or slug. The binos are overkill and you just need a quick confirmation if your sense of distance isn’t that good (like mine).
I have the Fury with the AB and i like them a lot. I also have 2 Impact 4000s that kind of co-witness with My Burris Veracitys . Kind of nice to Range and dial the distance on the heads up display of the scope.
Wait a minute. Doesnt that scope range as well?
That is the Eliminator, This is the Veracity PH 4-20x50
If you decide to get a Burris product, go to www.expertvoice.com and see if you qualify. A lot of companies, including Burris, offer discounts via this website. If you do qualify, discounts are based on retail but still beats all but the very good. I think my agreement with them prohibits me from giving details (b/c not all discount programs are equal), but let’s just say I saved more on a Burris scope than you’d save at a Black Friday sale.
I have have a Leica for 4 years not. Its been great. Ranges great and better glass than most.
The old leica box was my first range finder.
I have fond memories lol. I actually know where one is for sale.
Leica has been my choice, my brother and cousin have the newer vortex and like them. My current Leica has held up going on 9 years now, cant be knocked for the reliability.
