Need some of your knowledgeable guidance

All, I just got invited to a longe range shoot in May. 1000 to 2000 yards and may go out to 2 miles. My current options I have on hand is 300 wsm, 6.5 prc, 6.5 creed and 6 creed. Great out to 1200 but that is as far as I have shot. Couple of questions:

1 shoot what I have and if so which would you use or

2 get a 7saum or 7-6.5 prc barrel (Zermatt tl3 short actions) and if this option which one. I am fairly new to reloading so nervous about the prc option but got to get new dies either way for this.

Any advice is appreciated!

I would pick your 300 WSM & go heavy on your bullet, Berger 215 Hybrid or 208-grain ELD-M. No need to buy a new rifle.

You’ll probably need 20–40 MOA bases/rings.

Really Heck! just bring them all!

I have 20 moa rail and I do barrel change outs so it would only be a new barrel but I hear you not sure that I am gaining much going to a 7 saum. Although a new excuse for a different barrel is always cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I probably wouldn’t go with a 7-6.5prcw. That’s a perfect cartridge for shooting at 1000 yards for fclass but the reason the use that cartridge is because they use extremely long barrels to hit 7 prc speeds. It’s pretty niche.

I’d go with a 7 prc or a 300 prc. But you could also make do with your 300wsm.

At 2 miles, the difficulty is spotting the hit because it doesn’t really shake the target at all and doesn’t leave much of a mark, so 30 cal heavy or bigger bullets are preferred.

Than you for that advice Jim. Hey you just potentially saved me some money I can use for one of your chassis!
