New video: Best barrel combo for a single action

Great info in the new video @backfire. I have been going down this particular rabbit hole for a while, have put a few things on the Forums here about it. I don’t really know if a Bergara Premier Action is oon the same level as a Terminus, BAT or another like that, but they are also several hundred dollars more and not Rem 700. Like you said, that makes these really intriguing.

So, I am curious what the consesus would be here for a dual barrel rig - Same Action, same bolt face, different barrel.

My current choice would be 6.5 PRC and 300 WSM. Both can be long range, both can be hard hitting, but the 6.5 is far more forgiving to shoot consistently. I would do a Stainless Bull 24-26" barrel with the 6.5PRC so I can shoot long range off a bench and a CF 20-22" for the 300WSM to go western hunting. Chassis stock.

Thoughts?

Love 300 WSM.

I’d seriously consider getting two separate 6.5 PRC barrels, one long, and one quite short. Like 16 to 18 in short.

At least around here a lot of hunting is done out of climbing stands or small box blinds. That short barrel rifle would come in quite handy for those situations and you’d still be getting good performance, roughly that of a 6.5 Creedmoor. Then long barrel if you’re going hunting out in the open.
