@backfire now that you have had both, which do you prefer more? I have an nx8 and really like it, but can get a discount on a Mark 5, but have never looked through one. Would love to hear your or anyone else’s thoughts. Thanks

Leupold Mark 5 glass is unquestionably better glass. Slightly better in low light, and more sharp.
But the Leupold has a super annoying turret design with tiny set screws, and I trust the Nightforce to be absolutely bombproof. I don’t know that the Leupold isn’t as well, but I trust the Nightforce.
I still prefer the Nightforce but I am gearing up for a scope torture test that may change my mind. Results are all that matter to me.

Thank you, appreciate it! I never read anything about a nightforce having tracking issues or anything, but have quite a bit with Leupolds, despite loving the VX5/6 line. Excited to see your extended review.
Have you looked at the Arken EP5 Gen II in the 7x35? The tracking test came back with a 0% error and the glass they deemed to really close to the high end scopes so for a $500-$600 scope I bought two. Both are on Ruger RPR’s, a 6.5 CM and a 338 LM. I have zero complaints with them.
