No Primers in Canada

Hello all. Im not sure if the US is also having as hard of a time finding primers as here in Canada, but all the gun shops around me have been sold out for around 6 months. Does anyone have a local contact that sells them or is willing to ship them. People on our local gun website are selling them for almost a dollor a piece. Would appreciate the help!

Sheesh! A dollar a piece!

It’s hard to find primers here too but I go to gun shops three times a week and so I’m able to find them randomly on shelves pretty regularly.

I don’t know if GunBroker is open in Canada, but you can reliably find them on there at a premium, but nowhere close to as expensive as $1/each.

I dont have a solution for you per se, but i have made it my mission to make my own primers because one day the government will ban them or tax them out of existence.

Wow! And to think I turned away 1,000 Large Rifle Magnums today because it would have cost $160.

Last Gunshow I was at ( last month ) only 3 guys sold some primer : 1000 primer for $450-550
Unreal
I may look in to reload primer as well in case of times like this

So there is a place that sells primer compound 22lrreloader.com. I bought the primer compound but it does not work. I tried to get some support from them and they just ghosted me so I am in the process of making my own priming compound made with Lead Nitratohypophosphite. There is a little chemistry involved but its supposed to be pretty straight forward. I am currently gathering supplies to give this a try.

I lucked out yesterday and was able to score 3,000 Large Rifle Magnum primers from Bass Pro Shops of all places. I was there to pick up some powder I ordered and saw the stacks of various primers. I about lost it trying to flag someone down behind the counter. After dealing with hazmat and shipping fees online, I felt like $90 per 1k was a deal!
