Now the barrel is threaded plus a Holland muzzle brake

Just picked up my Winchester S70 300 win mag from a gunsmith up in north Medford area after threading the barell and installing a Holland muzzle brake on it. Now its perfect! According to the gunsmith the muzzle brake should reduce the kick by 46%.

Good looking rifle! Enjoy!
While muzzlebrakes do reduce recoiil ALOT I just can’t tolerate the noise they make.

Beautiful rifle. Got any hints for it?

I don’t know what’s better, less recoil? Or more noise? You can have both, less recoil and less noise with a good pair of ear covers.

No, not yet. This would most likely be my first rifle to take either target shooting or hunting. It will be most likely to be shot first. An African hunting trip came with it for three animals good for three years. Flight and hotel costs are on you. I just love the wood on this Winchester and it wasn’t the highest grade French oak. I could have gone higher but so would have the price and at the time this is what I could’ve afford, otherwise would have gone with higher grade of wood.

I don’t typically take earplugs hunting so suppressor is my choice vs muzzlebrake.

Unfortunately, I am in CA, no suppressor allowed.
