Hey Jim I saw your podcast about troubleshooting inaccuracy in rifles and you said all action screws will eventually work themselves loose. This poses 2 questions. Why can’t they be loctited? And could your chassis come with nylock action screws. Surely that is achievable somehow, and would be a clearcut advantage over the competition. Just a thought
I usually do put vibratite on my action screws. Let me do some research on nylock. I’m not familiar.
On male threads nylock is generally just a hole drilled into the side of the thread with a bit of nylon stuck in there, they do it with grub screws for agricultural machinery. I think Leupold do it on there scope base screws not 100% sure it is them though.
With any new gun I also apply vibratite after removing the action screws and degreasing them. I do the same with any scope base and rings.
