Painting a Chassis?

I have a couple Anodized Aluminum chassis that I am thinking about painting (I am cheap and don’t want to Cerakote). These are hunting rifles. Does anyone know of any issues I would create by painting a hunting rifle? Does the scent stay with the paint for a certain length of time?
Anyone do this DIY project and go hunting afterward with good success?

I would recommend DuraCoat. You can buy it in rattle can form and it’s designed for firearms.

Small sample size (1), but I got a good result doing some AR components with Brownell’s Aluma-Hyde II. Also made for firearms. I don’t recall about the scent, but then again, I wasn’t paying attention. It wasn’t a hunting gun.
