Placement of press on workbench

So, I took the big plunge and got a new press. Now the question is where on workbench should I mount it? How much space left and right of it should I have? I have a 6 foot workbench with 2 drawers underneath it.

Appreciate any help you all can give a newbie on the placement of the press.

My advice as a relatively new reloader myself;

Mount the press to an appropriately sized piece of wood (2x4, etc) and use a clamp to hold that assembly to your bench.

Then experiment around with different locations until you find what works for you.

I’m still not 100% certain what is best for me

First of all, I can’t attach clamps to the workbench there’s no place to secure them. Second of all, I went and bought into the inline fabrication’s quick attach mounting system. As I can use the same base for all my reloading gear and my Real Avid vise. Will keep the workbench from getting cluttered up.

This is how I did mine, I only left enough room on the left of the press to put a tray or bin for finished cartridges. Allows me some work space to the left for case prep and powder dispensing. I also went with the inline fab mounts for various tools.

I’d personally put it all the way to the right. Then it won’t be in the way for other steps and will be most accessible if you’re right handed.

Thanks for all the comments. Didn’t go with all the way to the right as I use that right half for other stuff. But here are some pics. I went and bought into the Inline Fabrication’s Quick Connect system to keep the bench open when not reloading. From right to left, there’s the FA swager tool, Real Avid’s Master Vise, FA M-Press, and Harbor Freight’s 2 inch cut-off saw.

Looks good to me. It’s whatever work for the individual
