I am looking to go on my first hog hunt. I have never booked one and it seems hard to pick a good one. I am looking for suggestions from people that have booked ones. I live in Nebraska and will be driving to the destination. I was thinking Ok or Tx but open to other places.
I know texas is loaded with them. I have a place in southern Mississippi and we are normally over run with them but we had a guy come run dogs 2 weeks in a row and we havent gotten a picture in 3 weeks.
Personally i think the further south in texas you go the better. Hog hunting has a pretty good success rate. Good luck!

This is on my hunting lease in North Central Texas.

Or you can shoot the Masked Corn Thieving Bastiges!
Or a mixed bag

This is what we look for…
There are a lot of places that offer hog hunting in both OK and TX. Most of them will have feeders and stands, and some are even fenced in. So it depends on how you feel about that–I would call around and ask them about the property you would be hunting on, and how it works. Do they offer spot and stalk or just hunting from blinds, etc. If you would rather hunt more of a “wild hog” experience vs. captive feral hogs, that makes a big difference, and will even impact which license you need to buy. Sometimes the websites for these places aren’t very clear about what they offer, and that is usually a red flag. I would still call and talk to whoever you’re scouting out too, and don’t feel bad about asking questions so you get the experience you’re looking for.
