Question About Cerakote and DLC

Hi guys, please forgive me for beating this dead horse here. I know there is potential for losing the smoothness of an action by cerakoting a bolt and action.
What if I were to Cerakote the action and have the bolt DLC? Would that make a difference in reducing the “smoothness” effect out of the action. I have a Tikka T3X Lite 6.5 PRC and I am getting a stock like the picture attached and I am wanting to cerakote the action and barrel in sniper grey to match this picture with a contrasted black bolt. But I am worried about losing any smoothness of the Tikka by having the action cerakoted. That is why I am asking if having the bolt DLC will that help reduce that. Or is it all or nothing with any type of cerakote on either the bolt or the action? **I want to avoid Nitride.**Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated. I have my gun at the gunsmith and I am supposed to let him know this morning :frowning:

I’ve never had it done to an existing action. Only tried doc and Cerakote on factory actions where they plan for the thickness of the coating in the tolerance. Anyone else done it before?

So are you saying that they “Tikka” plan for Cerakote on their Actions in thickness tolerance?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I cerakoted a tikka action once, but not the bolt. I don’t think I would do it again. I think it eventually returns back to its original smoothness though.
