So I have been listening the podcast and I had a question on the groups. I get shooting 5 shot groups over 3. I have a bad habit of shooting only 3 but when I shoot a 5 it is a better representation. On one of the podcast you were talking about a 20 shot group. Are you shooting all 20 into one spot or are you taking your 5, 5 shot groups and taking your measurements from there?
The 20 shot group is a composite made from four separate five shot groups. He’s been doing it manually. I did recently found an app called shot Fusion available for Apple products that will supposedly do it for you. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet
cool! thanks for the info. I will check it out.
I found an article that detailed how to manually combine many targets into one sample for analysis. The target they created is called the EATS target https://www.outdoorlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/OL_E.A.T.S._Target_8_f16309.pdf I believe that this will get you to the article as well. I have used it for smaller calibers(6mm and under) and it is enlightening. I also have the ShotFusion app and like it as well.
I read the article a while back. Doesnt it have a target download for that method? Its pretty similar to what Jim talked about recently.
Yes sir it does. I use different color sharpies for different range days and am trying to get a composite target just to see dispersion.
It would be interesting to see the results.
I’ll have to post a picture
