Hey Jim, I was just wondering if you’d share what tech stack you guys use to support Backfire Plus–are the courses hosted on Teachable or some other platform? Or are you using like a WordPress membership plug-in? Thanks in advance!
It’s Wordpress, membermouse for the membership.
The courses are displayed using a plugin but I can’t remember what it is right now. I’m traveling and don’t have a laptop.
Then we use powerpress for the private podcast and discourse for the community.
It’s definitely an “advanced” setup and takes me a couple days to make everything work together well, but it’s seamless and low maintenance once it’s set up. I’ve used this setup with another previous business and it’s my preferred way. Teachable or Kajabi or something like that is way simpler, but limiting in how you can set it up.
Yeah I have a business where I use a combo of Teachable, GumRoad and even Microsoft Teams for discussions, so I get it. Hard to get everything you want in one nice package. I was curious because I like that this is more seamless with like a single login.
Most of it is pretty simple with Memberpress controlling access to everything on the website. The tricky part is getting the login to work on the podcast and the community, which are hosted off the site. Discourse is pretty easy to work with. The podcast is tough to do.
