Recommended Custom and Premium Rifle Makers for 7 PRC

Jim, I have watched your video on The Ugly Truth Behind “Custom” Rifles and read your article 9 Best Hunting Rifles Available in 7mm PRC. I want to buy either a custom or premium rifle in a 7 PRC. Looking at the list of Custom and Premium Rifle builders at the bottom of you article on rifles available in 7 PRC, which of the companies listed do you recommend I research and talk to? Are there any others that are not on your list that I should contact? Thanks. Chip

Also, to everyone else, are there companies you have had great experiences with and results from that you can recommend?

No personal experience with them but I can’t say I’ve seen any negative reviews on Horizon. They also made 2 of the top accurate rifles in the database.

I do have an older Seekins in 7prc which is a great rifle

Guy at my range has the Sawtooth in 7prc and it’s a lazer beam. If you can handle the weight, it’s a great gun. He says with the backstop and suppressor the recoil is mild.

I know several guys that rave about this place, “Crown Ridge Barrel Works” small shop probably a quicker turn around, plus they sell the Defiance Action for $825which is a good deal.

Did they ever get the magazine issue taken care of? I’ve watched two different videos on YouTube from two different individuals and the mag would drop after firing.

Don’t know. None of the reviews that I have ever watched mentioned that at all.

Are you referring to the Horizon bolt actions? That the Muley freak was using comparing the 7prc to the 7 backcountry?

Yes and Tate also had one too that the magazine was dropping out of on one of his videos

There’s a handful of people on Rokslide who have mentioned this as well. Sweet rifles, but that’s a huge issue. If you needed a quick follow up shot, and your mag fell out, you’d lose your animal.
