RFK, Jr. is running for 2024

As a dem no less. Though I suppose that makes sense (old world liberal like his dad/uncle).

The left-leaning MSM hasn’t said a peep about it… I think Fox may have covered it a little but none of the major outlets that I know of. If they did it would probably just be to smear him as an ‘antivaxxer’ or some such nonsense.

I know, it seems like he has a snowball’s chance in hell… but how do you think it will play out? I mean he is an actual anti-establishment/anti-corporatocracy candidate. And old Joe isn’t exactly a popular sitting president…

Did anyone listen to his announcement speech? I thought it was pretty decent.

I listened. He definitely talks the talk. I predict he will beat Biden.

Will be interesting to see what happens. No dems have been willing to stand up to Biden so far.

I just do NOT want to see another Biden/Trump election. My dream election would be Biden/DeSantis. I think DeSantis could mop the floor with him.

100% – How DeSantis bucked nonsensical covid policies and stood up to the mob alone puts him miles ahead.

I couldn’t imagine ever voting for RFK Jr. I don’t see how he’d be good for my wallet or my rights.

The fix is in for biden. Hell, the DNC already said there would be no primary debates. They want to keep their puppet at all costs, the biggest cost being America.

I’m not sure, as the DNC seems to have already chosen to stick with Biden. That said, I heard this morning RFK Jr is polling around 20% among Democrats. I have to wonder if he might pick up some of the traditionally anti-war dems? In the end, I agree with Jim. I don’t want to see another Trump/Biden election. I’m in for DeSantis.

We will see. They are trying everything to keep him in the office for sure.

I’m not excited about ANYONE running. It’s like the same regurgitated talking points parroted by the party platforms in a different suit. They all eventually conform to the party platform. Trump, Desantis, Biden, RFK, etc. it doesn’t really matter. They will all do what they need to do/say so the party can execute their initiatives.

Gone are the days of having true statespeople that put principle over party… if that ever truly existed in the last 50+ years.

My thoughts on politicians?

All politicians are evil, some are just more evil than others…

Yeah hard not to be cynical, but I think the system corrupts the individuals. Like, I think we all know that after we exit the polls, and the elected rep goes to DC, it’s over. They don’t care about us once they realize their campaign finance all comes through super pacs and big donors. In other words, they go to work for corporations, not us normal folks. We all know it. It’s such a joke.

What we would need to have happen is like a sea change where 80+% of the incumbent crooks who are in office right now get booted by a bunch of nobodies like you and I, and on the very first day in office, we pass a major reform bill that throws up a boundary line between big business and state (just like we have a separation of church and state). No more super pacs, no more corporate lobbyists, no more big $ in DC, and term limits to boot–no more career politicians. You get paid by the taxpayer to go and serve your (limited) post, and make legislation that considers the little guy, small businesses and so on, and that’s it.

They tried all of that with Citizens United in the President Obama years… it went all the way to the Supreme Court and failed. It all makes sense now that it’s coming out that the Supreme Court is filled with unethical people too that are taking paid trips and given 8 figure sums of money for appearances and speeches.

Complete conflict of interest but what’s new in the grand scheme of things? The love of money is the root of all evil and there are so many that love money.

Me too. I thought he would give trump a run for his money but he is not doing well in the polls. Did something happen that I missed?

I don’t get it either. I thought Desantis would have support exceeding or at least neck and neck with Trump, but for some inexplicable reason he still leads everyone else by double digits, to the point where it looks like just about any of the other candidates could have an equal chance at an upset now. I know he would never do it, but I really wish Trump would just bow out. (Literally anyone else could beat Biden–like the only way we could lose at this point is if Trump is the candidate). The biggest weapon the Dems have to drive out voters is “orange man bad” without it, they got nothin’.

Also any other candidate, when they win, should just pardon Trump, and leave all the nonsense behind us. Maybe if they made a backroom pact to do just that, he would? But I doubt it.

I think the short answer is that DeSamtis seems to fold a bit under pressure or when challenged on his talking points. Others have attacked him on this and inferred that he doesn’t truly believe the things he’s saying and that he’s only making certain claims for political relevance. I can see this being a factor and the reality is that I believe that he’s an intelligent man but I don’t feel like he’s taking the elections seriously… like many candidates that have felt a nomination was owed.

Those of you who, like myself, are strong 2A advocates might want to check out the youtube video of Colion Noir (my fav 2A dude) interviewing Vivek Ramaswamy…this young guy seems to understand what makes the idea of America so great…and the fact he is under 100 years old makes him different from Biden/Trump.

Vivek makes the right points about the 2A and why still relevent against F16s and tanks

Agreed. I’m liking Vivek.

What I’ve heard from Vivek recently on the Second Amendment is very encouraging. I also heard his interview with Jordan Peterson and was impressed by some of his positions and his energy and enthusiasm. Our country wasn’t built by sad faced people moping about looking for the government to do something for them. On the international front, I like some of what he is saying. He has criticized some of the nation building enterprises that have characterized the last 20 years and I think rightly so. He supports demanding the European countries commit more to their own defense and I assume that means fulfill their NATO obligation. He also states we need to sway Russia and India away from developing closer ties with China. I think that makes sense as a general policy direction. I do have some concerns, however, that a rapid pull back of US force projection around the world, particularly in the Pacific, could be destabilizing. I could be wrong, but as I see it, the benefit for those foreign powers swaying toward the US is our power as a ally both economically and militarily. If we pull back too quickly, it may leave to door open for China to fill the void.

I’ve noticed though, the mainstream media and establishment Republican’s don’t really seem to like Vivek, which makes me like him more.
