Rimfire Rifle Series

I want to get into the rimfire rifle series but I don’t have a gun yet. I want to not be limited by the firearm but I don’t really want to build a rifle unless it’s worth it. Do you guys have any suggestions for optics and rifle suggestions for a nice rifle for competitive shooting.

For an entry level price point to see if it’s something you would consider spending more money on if you end up enjoying it, I would suggest:

Ruger Precision Rimfire 22lr
Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 4-16x44
Vortex Precision Rings
MDT GRND Pod or MDT ORYX bipod

Plenty capable to use in matches, and if it turns out you don’t like them as much as you think, you still have a sweet shooting 22lr to use on squirrels or rabbits or plinking that everyone will want to shoot!

Kai has a good recommendation there. I’d go a little different direction for my preference but either would do well.

For me, this would be an EASY decision.
Bergara B14R with a steel barrel https://alnk.to/4XudFDJ
And then an Arken 4-16x50mm scope. https://www.arkenopticsusa.com/sh-4g2-4-16x50mm-ffp

I actually owned a $2,000 Vudoo 22lr, which is the one the winners of the NRL22 generally use. I know the brand well. I actually bought my home from the owner of Vudoo. They are AWESOME guns for sure, so no shade at all, but I was shocked to see that my Bergara B14R could honestly shoot just as well. You won’t be held back at all with that thing except at maybe the VERY VERY highest levels of the sport where just having a chassis could give that 1% edge.
