I just installed the backlight chassis on my rifle and having trouble getting it set up up correctly. I have Medium Talley rings currently installed, but it feels significantly to low. Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe it is the above bore recoil pad?? I’ve never had a chassis before, so this is new. I feel like I need high rings…maybe extra high.
A trick I was taught a few years ago is to stack quarters between the receiver and base of the scope until you have a comfortable line of sight. At that point measure the stack of quarters and use that to determine the ring height needed, or possibly a taller/higher moa rail or combination of the two.

Ultimately, you will need medium rings at minimum, but likely high or extra, as you stated. The reason is that the Backlight, unlike traditional stocks/chassis, has an above bore recoil pad. It raises the cheek and anchor point naturally. However, that raises your focal point, so you will need taller rings.

I went with high rings. 1.5". Anything under 1.25" will be too small
Isn’t 1.5" Xtra high? Did you try the 1.25"?
They are 1.5" and I measured that was what I needed to be comfortable.
