Does anyone have experience with the Savage 110 Ultralite with the Proof barrel? I’m looking at a LH model in 300wsm. I figure I drop a Timney in it and it ought to be a shooter.
I have one in 6.5 PRC and it shoots really well. It’s probably my most accurate rifle. The stock is serviceable but I didn’t like it so I eventually put it on an MDT field stock
I have the 6.5 lefty prc as well… it’s a tack driver. The stock is on for me I don’t like the trigger assembly but it works
I own a 6.5 prc, very accurate. I also have a 30-06, this one is extremely accurate. I didn’t like the trigger in the 6.5 prc. I did order a Timney trigger on a black Friday sale for the 6.5 prc. I did install it and feels much better. Being a lefty our options are limited but I’ve been pleased with the ultralights with the Proof combo from Savage.
I have it in 300 wsm. Super ruff action initially . After having ruger Americans and remington 700s i was disappointed. But after thousands of dry fires watching the Braves, it smoothed out. It is super accurate. The stock feels cheap but it works. 24” is longer than I want. I tried to sell it but no one wanted it. My son has an axis deer and a whitetail with it. It truly is a sub moa rifle on the bench at 200 yds.
I’d rather have a browning x bolt for the money. Or the ruger American gen 2 and get 2… ![]()
but mine is right handed…
I bought one in 30-06. It’s a tack driver out to 300yds. Does better with heavier bullets (165 or 180 gr). The stock is meh and the action is good, but not as smooth as my Bergara.
