Scope shopping advice

I was hoping the backfire community could provide a little advice I am scope shopping for a hunting scope 3x18 or maybe 4x20 it’s for a 7prc hunting rifle and would like to keep the weight down I have a couple of athlon scopes I bought from backfire store and I do like them a lot but I have been thinking I would like to try something different I have been thinking the Burris veracity PH or maybe Vortex razor Leupold vx5 hd I know I want a FFP I would like to keep my budget around a thousand bucks but I’m a little flexible I’m really leaning toward the Burris any thoughts on which way you might go ?

With the Burris, be sure its legal where you hunt. I also saw something where a community member commented that the glass isn’t on par with the price of the scope.

Personally, I run the Althon Helos 4-20 genII and I like it lot. Weight is ideal for a 7PRC, not too heavy or light. Before that, I had the Element Titan 3-18 and I REALLY liked that scope, except its a tank. For where my build was at that time, it was too heavy to take into the deep woods. I did it anyway and it was a tough weight to carry.

3-18 has a lot of options, including the the Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44 and the Nightforce NX6 F1. Both of these are premium pricetags, but they are high end glass.

If you want ffp, the vx5 wont work, thats 2fp only; youd have to go to the Mark 4 or 5 if you wanted Leupold. Dont know anything about the Burris. The Razor HD LHT is a great scope. I have 3 (may sell one). Only complaint would be that the magnification ring on them is pretty stiff, but the glass and the eye box are great, and very clear.

I use the Vortex Viper HD line of scopes 3-15x44 and 5-25x50 . The 5-25x50 you can get ffp. The Razor LT is also ffp

This sounds exactly like what your looking for

FFP, $1,0000, hunting focused reticle. It’s not as light as the vx5, but its not a hog either.

What is the magnification on the razor ? I mean the one you might be selling ?

Yeh that checks all the boxes but can’t get your hands on it until December wow

Razor HD LHT FFP 4.5-22 moa - i’d let it go for $900 shipped or $975 with Warne Mountain tech rings. I have one currently that’s not on a rifle.

Seems like a good buy I will check it out

Look at the Steiner H6Xi scopes they are fantastic German glass and American assembled, they are in the $1000 range, also look at Meopta they used to make the Zeiss conquest line before Zeiss went to Asia to save $$$, I have 3 Meopta now 2 Steiners and one Swarovski 5+i, and used my 13 year old daughter and set them all on 18power and placed the. looking at the same pine cones in a tree 600 yards away, and asked her to tell which one she thought look the clearest, as she doesn’t know brands but those young eyes can sure spot a dollar bill laying on the ground. She thought Meopta looked the sharpest and best color. Also what ever you choose go to WikiArms and type the brand and model number and it will find the cheapest place on the web etc…

Thanks all for the input I ordered the Burris we shall see how it works out

Saw the 4-20 on Amazon for under $900… that’s an amazing price on that scope. Mind if I ask where you got it and what the damage was?

Natchez shooting and outdoors $767 it will take a week to get here tho

That’s a killer deal for that scope if it’s legal where you hunt.

If the stars line up… and it’s still on sale at Naches, I’ll hope cabelas has another club member day sooner then later, and I’ll have them beat the price by 5% then take another 10% off for the club member day have it shipped to Oregon so I don’t have to fund the Western WA. As I have a trip planed to OR in a couple of weeks

I thought it was a good deal that scope seems to have a strong following

This the one
