Seeking PH3 vs Tikka ace game

Hello Gents,

I am shopping for my “wife rifle”. Needless to say that I will likely use it.

she is 5ft5 , and I was hesitant between 6.5 cm and 243. I decided to go 6.5cm.

Now in Canada we don’t have as many choices as the usa, and I found these two rifle .

Seekins ph3 6.5 cm in 20in ( 2999$ CAD) OR TIKKA game 6.5 cm for 2200$ cad.

for myself I would pick the tikka but I wonder if it’s on the heavier side for a smaller woman ?

any suggestions between those 2 or something else ?

I would pick the Tikka but I don’t think most women would like the weight.

Maybe something like the Tikka UPR or super varmint or plan to put it in a lightweight stock or chassis?

any recommendations for a female friendly chassis?

There really aren’t a lot of options. You got the XLR, the hnt26, and the upcoming Backfire chassis.

All have strengths and weaknesses but the big issue for women is length of pull. My wife just can’t get comfortable behind a normal 13.5” length of pull rifle. She needs about an inch shorter.

As far as I can think of, I don’t think any other chassis will really fit a woman with a short length of pull. Our Backlight chassis will go super short but won’t be available in Canada for several months.

HOWEVER, now that I’m thinking about it what about a Sig cross? My Sig cross in 6.5 creedmoor is scary accurate and has a little length of pull adjustment.

That’s a good point. I’ve always liked the SIG, but I didn’t think of it at first because if it were just for me, the Ace Game would’ve been my pick. The SIG’s minimum length of pull being around 12.5–12.75 inches is actually perfect for my wife, so that opens up some options.

The only thing I’m thinking about is how cold that metal stock will get up in the Yukon during caribou season. I might end up adding a thin beaver‑fur wrap on the cheek piece to keep it comfortable.
