Shotshow Revic RS25B vs. Burris Eliminator 6?

Hi Jim,
Just watched your shot show video. You introduced Revic RS25B ($3995 backordered) and Burris Eliminator 6 $2,499.99. Obviously each has pros and cons, but if you were to get one, and money being no object, which one would you pick and why for long distance shooting?

Both are fantastic scopes. One other scope to throw into the mix is the new version of the Burris Veracity PH 4-20 with the better optical system.

If the job is hunting out to 800 yards or so, I’d pick the Eliminator 6. It just makes the process of finding an animal, ranging, dialing, incredibly fast. Can’t really be beaten. Only drawback is states like Idaho and Utah not allowing electronic scopes or honestly I’d put one on every gun I have.

The Revic is an amazing scope. It’s definitely a better option for precision long range because of the optical system, turret travel, and the app is uses. But you’re still ranging separately so it’s not as fast for hunting.

The Burris Veracity PH gives really the same feature set as the Revic but at half the cost. Very nice optical system but not quite as good, and the display isn’t as fancy.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess, I won’t be able to use the Eliminator 6 here in CA either.
Time to move. The other item of interest that you stopped by their booth is the “ivey” adjustable mount. I just found out about them today. I had emailed the gunsmith at the gunshop where I do most of my purchases and transfers. I had emailed him to give him heads up that my Desert Tech HTI is on its way and I need him to order a railing to go on top of the manufacturer railing (I was told by the gunshop sales guy that the railing does not come off and I have to get another railing and place on top. I also told him what scope I am bringing to store plus a list of 34mm mounts for him to choose from. Then I get an email from him suggesting not to mess around with the railing and instead get this “Ivey” adjustable mount (till today, I had not heard of them). So, I googled them and went to their site. It blew my mind how much they cost and I thought Spuhrs were expensive. These mounts are over $1,000. more like $1,029. The mount is the price of a good scope!
I am going to talk to him to see if there is a less expensive alternative, if not then I will go with his recommendation. Oouch.

I want to get a Burris Veracity PH scope so bad, but I hunt mainly in Idaho and Utah so the last thing I want to do is to be hunting illegally because of the scope.

I thought the Eliminator was illegal! You are saying the Veracity line, as well, is illegal?

Jim,

The Veracity PH is legal in Utah…correct?

Jim does the new eliminator scope have an actual reticle or does it just have the dot that lights up when you range the target?

This is the description:" Burris Eliminator VI 4-20x52mm X177 Riflescope 200177" All the online optic stores I shop at have already discounted it by $500 and list it for $2,499.99…
I already put down a deposit. I couldn’t get a straight answer from the sales guy regarding approx. ETA. He said “it could be by next month or three months…”

Veracity PH is not legal in Utah anymore as far as I understand it.

Actual reticle as a backup and a red dot that lights up on the reticle.

So Veracity PH is legal in Utah and Idaho, but it is just the Eliminator that is not legal? Great to know if it is legal.

I read the above post from you and must have read the both were illegal in Utah and Idaho, but after re reading the post it sounds like it is just the Eliminator that is a no go.

Sorry Matt. Autocorrect bit me on that post. I intended to type “not legal” and it auto corrected to “normal”.

No electronic scope is legal in Utah except for an illuminated basic reticle.

I called CA fish and game to find out if Burris Eliminator 6 was legal, say for dear hunting. She called me back and left me the following message:
“You can use it as long as it doesn’t throw any projected “artificial” light onto the dear!”
Then would the range finder laser be considered an “artificial” light in this case?
(I need to call her back to get clarification on this. What is confusing is that if the incorporated rangefinder is illegal, then why the monocular hand-held rangefinders aren’t?

I would think the laser is okay.
