Sig Cross vs. Fierce Mountain Reaper vs. Bergara MgLight – Which 7PRC?

I’m looking for recommendations on which 7PRC rifle to buy for backcountry hunting. This will be my do-it-all rifle for western big game (elk, mule deer, etc.).

I’ve narrowed it down to:

  • Sig Cross Magnum Sawtooth
  • Fierce Mountain Reaper
  • Bergara Premier MgLight

I’d love to hear from anyone with hands-on experience with these rifles. What are the pros/cons, and which would you pick for backcountry hunting?

That Sig Sawtooth is the one I’d feel most confident in shooting accurately. It’s slightly chunky but has a folding stock and the weight makes it shoot better.

It also the chunkiest of the 3. I love Bergara but of the 3, it’s in 3rd.

Did you ever get your Mg lite working correctly?

No. Sent it back.

I got rid of my Bergara MC Lite in 6.5prc also. Never could get it to shoot well. My Fierce Mountain Reaper in 7prc is flawless, as is my Seekins Slam in 6.5prc, and my Sig Cross in 6.5cm.

My Fierce Mountain Reaper was great until I added a suppressor, group opened up. I’m still in the process of changing my load development to see if I can get it back where it was with the muzzle break.

While I cannot comment on any of those rifles ( as I don’t own any of them} I will say my Browning X-bolt shoots Factory Hornady Outfitter ammo with the 175 ELDX ammo I’m getting .58 groups.
