Hey guys, hope you all are well. Excited that hunting season is now here!
Sorry to drop this question in here, seems like I’ve seen this asked before but I can’t find the thread. After I zero in my rifle with the Banish 30 silencer, do I need to re-zero it if I take it off for travel and then put it back on when I get to the location? Or, should I just leave it on for travel after I get it zeroed?
Heading out today to make sure I’m zeroed in and leaving for a trip tomorrow morning.
Shouldn’t really change anything as long as it’s tight and not loose at all. But I don’t think you’ll see a POI shift. If I were hunting under 250 yards, I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Over 250? I leave nothing to chance and would double check.
James, I am seeing this a little late. What did you decide to do? Are you flying or driving? I assume you are driving because I dont think there is a case long enough for flying with an attached suppressor.
Sorry I left you guys hanging fellas. I’ve been in the woods the past 4 days and just now getting out. In short, I suspected I’d have no shots over 250 and we were pressed for time when we got there. So, I did not check the zero when I got there.
But, I put the silencer (banish 30 onto Bergara B-14 Squared Crest in 6.5 PRC) back on and had no problem. The rut hadn’t started yet (southwest Arkansas) so there was zero buck movement. Took two does. One at 250 yards, and the second at 50. Had absolutely no problem with the zero. Dropped them both no problem at all (140 grain Berger Elite Hunter with 58.8 grains of Staball).
