Skinning for the first time... no youtube in the field

So, i finally.retired from the CAF, got my licenses, and already.picked first couple of non semi-auto rifles. Tikka t3x 6.5 creedmoor.and a savage axis 1 that.im pulling apart.and remaking with the help of boyds stocks… i love shooting.
I want to hunt, ive only ever shot coyotes on the farm, but we have whitetail, muleys, moose, and elk.

My wife got me this beautiful 9" raindrop-damascus bowie knife as a great gift, but theres no.way i can skin an animal with it… at least for my first time.

So, what’s a good option for a beginner? Does anyone have a go-to brand/size/shape?

I like the outdoor edge ones for skinning

Just found it and ordered the set. Thanks @backfire

Knives of Alaska are awesome knives and they a few that are great for skinning. No matter which way you go, be sure to have a sharpener your comfortable with. Keep sharpening your knife as you skin, the hair dulls knives really fast and as careful as you may be, you’ll eventually cut hair.
