I love the subtle details! Still waiting to put in my order, got my new Tikka waiting in 7mm-08 for its new home
Looks awesome. Love the American flag engraving!!
Have you considered cutting out both sides of the chassis so that the stock is ambidextrous? XLR has done this and they fill the slot with a plastic plug on the off hand side. You don’t even notice it. It seems like the industry has looked down on left handed shooters for no reason. And i think it would reduce the number of products you would need to satisfy all the shooters. Living in a family that has 50% left and 50% right handed shooters it would be much appreciated.
I also have a Manners (custom ordered) that does this and they put a thumb shelf on both sides as I assume you will have a thumb shelf or stop of some sort. That on both sides even with out the bolt cut out on both sides would be great.
Just some ideas for a product that looks great. Keep up the good work can’t wait to order one. If you need a product tester up in the north would be glad to apply for the position!
We have a few features that need to change to make it a lefty so we are just making a dedicated version for them. Our engineer is a lefty so he definitely wants this done correctly.
Will I be able to drop in the savage 110 ultralight. I’m not confident in my gun building ability so I’d like to keep it simple and just drop in something prebuilt.
Yep. Just unscrew two screws on the old gun and install them on the new chassis.
@backfire - For Backfire Plus insider members, will ordering be threw the community tab on the login?
It will be on BackfireShop.com and then we’ll set up the coupon code.
@backfire Will the chassis come with action screws? I have a Kelbly Atlas Lite with a carbon preferred barrel on it, waiting for your chassis, but the barreled action did not come with action screws.
Super psyched on everything I have seen so far, counting down the days!
jim
looks great , cant remember if going be one color if you said will be others, not that that will matter, still getting one , was just wondering , cant wait, also will there be a lead time for the tikka t3x s/a chassis? Also will it come with the lug or will we need to transfer or obtain one from stock (the flag is an awesome easter egg)
We’re experimenting with paint colors this week, so stay tuned for that.
Tikka should be ready at launch.
The recoil lug on your action?
Jim
yea will we need to move the recoil lug from one to the other other?
and very cool on colors. cant wait
Jim, I have a Savage 112 in 300 RUM. Will the new chassis accommodate that?
Will there be a video release for it soon on all the features? Also is their an email for the product launch so we will know when we can purchase
Yes, we’ll do an inlet for savage 112 but not right at launch
We’re going to release all the features and specs and video on the first day of shot show (mid January)
On another subject I really like the look of your gun room and the horizontal display of your long range shooters. What kind of components did you use for the horizontal application? I ran across some slat board panels on the Brownells web site but they were quite expensive, 22”x48” at $200 to $235 per panel. I would rather put that kind of money in another rifle. Any ideas or connections for a better deal?
The ones I used were pretty expensive but I got it for free. It’s from hold up displays.
