Split factory cases

Anyone have experience with splits in case necks from factory rounds after a single firing?

Had a set of factory ammo loaded with Jagemann (JAG) cases and just got them out of the brass dryer today (along with a mix of Hornady, Norma, and Prime brass) and had about 2/3 of the JAG cases had vertical splits in the case neck starting about halfway on the shoulder going up to a few mm south of the end of the case neck.

I’d wet tumbled these, separated the media, and dried them in the Franklin Armory case dryer. I set it at the highest temp setting for about an hour (165F) and then dropped it down for the second hour to about 100F.

Given the cracks all happened to a single brand of brass in the load, I’m assuming this is a poor brass problem rather than a processing problem but want to make sure I’m not missing anything in the cleaning process. I didn’t inspect the cases prior to putting them in the tumbler so it is possible these cracks occurred before I even started the cleaning process.

Dang. Thats no good. I don’t think this is anything you did. Sounds like just crappy brass.
