Suppressor Reduction of Recoil

How much does a Suppressor typically reduce recoil? Say on an 8.2 lb rifle gun and scope with a 300WM?

To me it doesn’t seem to reduce it quite as much as a muzzle break but it does do a decent job. What it doesn’t do in recoil reduction it more then makes up for in sound reduction. It is the best way to go. Just find a rifle with a shorter barrel so your not carrying around a rifle with 30 inches or plus of barrel and suppressor. It’s a real hassle to carry around something that long though the woods. And you don’t want to be taking it on and off all the time.

I did some testing on this. A 4-port muzzle brake cuts recoil about 45%.

On average, the suppressors were cutting about 35% of the recoil.

There’s a video on this in the “banned YouTube vids” section of Backfire Plus.”

Awesome! Thank you…will check this out.

Was about to pull the trigger on a Force Carbon Rogue steel action 7 PRC this week and heard your explanation on Mancast of how PRC can have issues….now rethinking ….if go 7 REM mag or 300 WM leaning toward using a suppressor….like that Banish backcountry you noted in one article!

Thanks! Looking at a 22 inch barrel with a 5.5 inch suppressor….
