Suppressor Suggestions

Hello. I am looking to get a new suppresor in the near future. I cant make up my mind on which one to get even though i know any of these are going to be great options. I have been considering between scythe ti, buck 30 banish, TBAC ultra 5 or 7, and dead air nomad. What cans ddo yall run and what have you liked so far? Is there a different one that you wish you went with instead of the one you currently own? Any opinions would be helpful.

For me, unless something crazy new comes out at Shot Show/West Hunting Expo, it’s between the Scythe and Nomad TI XC. From a lot of reports I’ve read, the Scythe beats the TBAC 5 and 7. I’ve heard the Nomad is a bit quieter than the Scythe, but will be about an inch longer and slightly heavier.

Have Ultra 7, Ultra 5, and a number of Nomads.

All work well, don’t feel either are superior.

I don’t recommend chasing the DB reduction rabbit. Most people can’t tell the measured differences, the methods of taking measurements is not standard between companies, and even if there is a slight difference in measurement, there is no practical advantage.

I have 3 AB Raptors in 30 cal, 1 Daniel Defense in 30 cal, 2 Huxwrx Flow in 5.56, and 1 Ruger .22 cal. I like all of them.

If you don’t have a NFA Trust may I recommend you get one prior to ordering. If you buy as an individual only you will be able to use it. You will have to keep it secured, and no one including wife and family can have access to it. With the trust you can add other people to it and they can also use the can.

I am in Texas and used Jim Willi at texasguntrust.com. He is a lawyer and writes a really good trust. You can use him and don’t have to be in Texas. Trust cost about $350.00.

I own the Scythe and shoot it on my 300 win mag and love it. Before the Scythe I was using an Omega which is almost twice the weight and the Scythe performance was equal with a little different report but very nice. My accuracy with the Scythe on the Fierce Mountain Reaper has been around 3/4 to inch moa so pleased all around with the can

I have two scythe ti. I’ve shot a few different ones that friends have had but I really love these ones. I have one on my sig cross 6.5 “no need for more”. And one on my 300 win mag. Shooting the 300 win with a suppressor is a game changer. What ever one you do choose Titanium is the way to go in my opinion. The weight difference is crazy

Like other have mentioned, don’t chase decibels. Personally, I just wanna eliminate that initial crack when I pull the trigger. For me, lighter and a little shorter is the way to go for a hunting suppressor.

You can’t beat this for the price.

I have had great success with the Silencer Central Banish 30 and for Pistol Banish 45. All made from Titanium components.

I have a complementary gun trust through them and Just recently purchased my second Banish 30 for a second rifle. It took 90 days to receive it.

Someone else in the forum stated not to chase the db rabbit - still consider that the Banish 30 and a set of shooting Ear muffs provide about the 34 db mitigation. A high powered rifle still requires hearing protection but this does reduce the sound significantly.

Price wise they are all competitive and quality, size, and weight should be considered for your application.

Cheers!

I use Silencer Shop. I ordered a suppressor in Sept and was approved in 4 days. So good I ordered another and was approved in 8 days.

I have that Harvester EVO 300 on the end of a 7mm-08. Mine was $200 more expensive. When I’m hunting antelope on the Colorado prairie (or just out in the grasslands for a day of shooting) I do not wear hearing protection because it is so quiet. However, when I’m shooting with my parents in the Black Hills (canyons and thick pine trees) of South Dakota, I definitely wear hearing protection. So, the environment really matters even with this suppressor.
