My friend said he got his suppressor approval within a week. Has anyone heard od this? He went through a local gunsmith in Southern Utah.
Almost everybody is getting it back within a week for personal right now. It’s still 4-6 months if you’re doing a trust. Personally, I would never buy a suppressor as an individual—always trust so I can add family members on it.
Remember, even if a family member—including a spouse—knows the code to your safe, you’re violating the law if they aren’t an owner of the suppressor (on the trust).
For individual my last suppressor was 3 days
I’m guessing i’m an outlier as in at the ten week mark waiting for my fourth approval.
I was pretty excited to see the wait times out there, but wasn’t my case. Patience is key
Did u do a trust? Those are still like 4 months.
No sir i did not do this one through the trust. All of my others were through the trust. I have heard that trust were still slow to approve so i purposely did not go through my trust this time.

Got my last one in two days with a trust at that!
I’m sitting on 8+ months for 2 through a trust, for what it’s worth ![]()
This isn’t normally something I recommend but this might be a case where you might want to call the ATF and make certain nothing is wrong. I’ve heard of plenty of examples of where people found out things were wrong when they called.
My last Trust application took less than a month. The one prior to that took less than 2 months and the one prior to that took maybe 3 months at most. 8 1/2 seems way out of the normal range now.
