I know this is about Silencer Shop, but is the suppressor industry going to follow their lead in bypassing the NFA registration rules since no Government response was received?
I hoping that you’ll be able to cross state lines to buy a suppressor, as I want a Airlock or Tenet, which are available in the Free State of Idaho, but no dealers in communist WA, and would have to pay a transfer fee.
I’m not rushing out to get suckered. In a week or so I might consider buying one with a GOA membership, but not until we get some guidance.

What about form 1? what is the process to build one here in Utah legally without submitting a form 1? Anyone out there smarter than me have the answer yet?
I wouldn’t build a suppressor just yet until we have more ATF guidance, but it sure looks like the process in free states is… just build it. Engraving requirements are still in place for now.
But I repeat that I would NOT do this until we get specific ATF guidance.
And also realize that if the new congress after elections is liberal and they use reconciliation (50% vote) to put the tax BACK, then the suppressors created in this period could be in an odd legal limbo–just like what happened when pistol braces were allowed, then disallowed later.
A Liberal Congress, what a thought and taxing a Constitutional Right. Let’s put a $200 tax on the 1st Amendment for what is not normal or customary speech but if your pocket book is deep enough we could have a dozen levels of speech moderation. The court finally gets this right but I can see the Donks dicking it up.
The judge enjoined enforcement of parts of the NFA by the feds but this has no effect on enforcement of state laws tied to the NFA. Folks need to check their state laws. In addition to those states that outright ban suppressors, more than a dozen apply the NFA to state law. For example, in my state (GA), state law bans possession of a suppressor thar is not “registered…in accordance with the dictates of the National Firearms Act.” Violation = five years in the state pen.
Costco and Kirkland sell just about everything.
So should I buy a suppressor now? Or wait for more guidance

I think if you don’t need it now then wait, as there’s a run on them going on, and I’m sure that Black Friday will have some sales and rebates, after everything cools off. Plus there’s new tech coming out every day and cans are only getting better
I wonder how they will handle form 1s for building your own suppressor?
That’s my question. I’m in the process of building a couple that I got form 1s approved for and wondering how it will be now on
Seems like if you’re a member of the GOA or live in one of the states on the list, you should be able to. The problem I see is what does that mean for labeling? Unless you can laser engrave yourself you’ll likely have a hard time getting anyone to do it for you without a form 1. So I guess you would just leave it unengraved? I don’t think we will get guidance from the atf until sometime after October 5th
I’m hearing some noise that the ATF may still appeal. I’m just waiting until we get official guidance from ATF.
