Forgive my youthful ignorance. I’ve been out of pocket for a bit. How does one. Myself living in Davis county go out and buy a suppressor today? And what recommendations do you have that is close to like the banish Backcountry? That works for like all calibers pretty much.
First you need a budget, then you need to figure out what are your goals, hunting? Range time? High rate of fire? For me I’m strictly looking at hunting Suppressors. Light weight w/noise reduction, and ease of purchase… Ass pro Shops, and Cabelas does online purchases now, and if your a club member, you can wait until it’s a club member day and purchase online and get a extra 10% off and off you Military current or former get another 5% off, they basically have the major brands and the SilencerCo Scythe-Ti is the banish backcountry etc but lighter and quieter. If you’re up for a road trip, ALS Sporting good in Utah is a good source as they are an Airlock dealer, but this what I think are the top 5 current hunting suppressor’s.
1st-Airlock zero gravity
2nd-Stealth Additive Works (SAW) OREV
3rd- Tenet Limited with brakes if shooting a magnum
4th- Precision Armament Ti-Rex
5th- SilencerCo Scythe Ti
I ended up just purchasing the Precision Armament Ti-Rex last Thursday…. But being I’m in a communist state of WA… I don’t get to do a 4473 form… so not sure when i’ll get it. I ended up choosing the TI-Rex for noise reduction, price, and availability as it was the only one I can find in stock, as my 1st 2nd 3rd choices had no dealers in WA and Silencer Shop is the easiest way for me to get a can in WA and they had the Ti-Rex in stock, with $100 rebate. Thank you for the information. I heard if you buy from silencer central you still have to go through the whole process just like from before that takes months. Rather then just ordering from an online dealer and it sent to an FFL dealer? Any thoughts on that? I wish there were a way I could purchase a banish backcountry suppressor like same day kind of purchase after passing the background check and take it home with me kind of thing from a store. Just like a regular rifle purchase kind of thing.
If your in one of the 27 states of the free world it’s as simple as going into a shop and walking out the same day… I’m assuming you live in Utah, so you might call your local Ffl that handles suppressors and asking them if there selling suppressors now with form 4473(normal gun transfer usually same day w/Nix background check)backcountry is a ok can it’s a little outdated as I think the ones I listed are lighter and quieter, I know that my local store has the Banish cans in stock (North 40)
You also need to be a GOA or I believe FPC member to go the 4473 route. I’m waiting for actual black and white response from the ATF before I go that route because I simply do not trust the government.
