The 22’s by Hornady

Hey all Hornady’s new babe on the block 22 arc and the 22 creedmoor supported by horizon both from Hornady.
Listening to a few reviews it seems as though the 22 arc is getting a bit more support from Hornady.
Let’s have your thoughts.
I just saw a Ruger American chambered in the 22 arc. Tempting. Less expensive than Horizon.
Let’s here it.

Mini action vs. short action. The only real benefit I can see to the 22 arc is that it works in the AR-15 platform. So you can change out your upper and enjoy (near) 22-250 performance (though I have my doubts as to the reality of those marketing claims until I see it myself). Similar to the 6 arc vs. 6 creed, I just don’t see the appeal in a bolt gun at all. The respective Creedmoor cartridges should outperform the arc cartridges all day long, and if I were choosing between them, I would just wait for more manufacturers to carry it, and choose the creed. Who-Tee-Who had a recent video comparing 6 arc to 6 creed (and some other 6mm cartridges like .243 win and 6 rem). The differences he highlights would be similar to what you can expect between these 22’s.

If it’s in an AR, obviously pick the Arc. If a bolt gun, I think the Creedmoor is more versatile.

The Arc is getting a bit more love for the next year and a half while it’s exclusive to Horizon to distribute the ammo, but after that it’ll open up.
