I am very excited for the Backfire chassis to be released in the near future! I am curious if you will be including an inlet for Ruger American gen 2 and how you think that specific action and your chassis will handle 300 win mag?
Also curious if your chassis will be compatible with AICS magazines?
Thank you for your time!! Very eager to hear your response!
Thanks for the question. Yes, we’ll definitely have Ruger Gen II. It’s only a matter of how long it will take us to prepare each inlet. We will certainly have REM 700 and Tikka available at launch, but I’d like to have more ready too. Just depends on how much we’ll have time for before we have to put pencils down and start producing.
My goal overall is for this chassis to be available for nearly every rifle in existence. We intentionally built it in a way that will make that possible. Sako, Browning, Savage, CVA, and others that are usually ignored are ones I want to have available, in addition to the obvious ones like Bergara which will fit in a rem 700.
With Ruger, I’d really like to use AICS. The Ruger-made magazines feed horribly. That’s also my fear with doing a Ruger chassis is that there will be feeding errors that will be blamed on the chassis when really it’s just the terrible Ruger action. That’ll be tricky.
Very excited to hear you may make it for the CVA. My CVA 6.5 PRC was the most accurate hunting rifle I’ve ever owned. I’ve also been pleased with how accurate my 7 PRC CVA shoots. But, I’d really like to put it in a chassis but its been highly frustrating that no (other than Boyd’s perhaps, I’ve had bad experience with them) makes for it. So, way to go on this. I’m definitely a customer for it!
