The Fix by Q - 6.5 Creedmoor, 16

hi backfire studs!
I came across a video of someone showing off what he brings on his Alaska hunt. He showed off that gun mentioned in the title. said he hasn’t hunt with it yet.
anyone has seen or shoot one ? , it’s 5k ‘Canadian money,’ which is about the price of sako quest… which seems nuts.
anyways maybe someone here has tried it and can tell if it’s worth the price. thanks

I’ve handled them before in stores and have talked with owners, but haven’t shot one.

The reason I haven’t bought one is the huge price tag for something that is basically just a Sig Cross.

Like you, I just see more competitive options for half the cost.

I’ve been really interested in their 8.6, but the price tag is tough. All around $3k USD, when I can buy a similar pistol/SBR for half to 60% of the price. But I agree with the above; if you could find an Sig Cross, it’d probably cover what you’re looking for just based on the category.

I’ve also just bought into the MDT HNT26 for a Christensen REM 700 footprint stock change. This will give me a much lighter overall rifle and allow to fold it (not sure if our northern friends have the same rules around side folder stocks on rifles). Not a cheap conversion, but valuable.

A sig cross with a proof barrel would be killer for way less, and you’ll achieve better accuracy. I’m pretty sure they make a pre fit for the regular cross models. Otherwise id spend the money on a fierce mtn reaper or the new Seekins Element with the folding stock. Those are both sure to be far more accurate, better options, at about the same price point as the Q

yeah I might look at the HNT26. the rules are so dumb here nowadays but I think as long as the length of the rifle with the cross folded is greater than 26in, we are good. I will still contact my local rep and ask before spending that kind if money.

yeah your right, I actually I just saw online those cross sawtooth with the carbon barrel.

Where do you hunt that doesn’t allow side folding stocks? Haven’t heard of that one before.
