Is this a recent build?? Hows it shooting

This is a build I just bought have not shot yet waiting on weights (MPA Internal) and muzzle break ‘Fat b*stard’ (APA). Deal was to good to pass up.

was going to build but this came through at such an amazingly low price that I couldn’t even think about building

that seems like an awesome set up! Not going to lie, im kind of a 308 hater… Thats the only thing that turns me off about this. Are you planning on handloading for it or just shooting factory?

Haters gotta Hate…. No worries…Does your honesty ever get you in hot water ROFL… Not with me

I don’t reload yet Its on my horizon paln to start off with Factory will be checking out a bunch of Match grade

Nice setup. I run the same action and am very happy with it. You are an easy pre fit barrel change and even bolt face if you ever want to play with different calibers.

Thanks and yes that was the plan. Not sure whuch at this point. It was already a 308 and the price at $3000 complete with just a few hundred rounds was impossible to pass up and new bolt face if needed and a barrel will be a reat addition at some point.

I was going to build my own but at that price coundnt say no. I had a bunch of parts ill now sell . I mght try out the chassis I have though at some point Its a JAE-700 G4 we shall see can allways sell that

Ooh baby! Looks nice. Can’t wait to see how it shoots.

Thanks Jim i’m on your team! Me too. Its pretty sweet Its been a long time coming finally healed from my broken hand and 2 surgeries really looking forward to working this on out Been out since November. :folded_hands:

So I have an original Jay AllenJAE-700 gen4 Chassis. Which chassis do you think is going to be the easiest shooting chassis between this and the Masterpiece Arms? I don’t have experience with either of them shooting. So if I was going to take this thing out to the range, do I choose one over the other? Do I bring them both?

Hey everyone, hope you are all well. Hope you all have some nice plans for Mother’s Day this weekend.

The rifle is finally on its way to me and should be here hopefully by the end of the week or early next week. I’m thinking about getting another barrel to put on this thing so I can take advantage of the pre-fit and get more out of it. It takes so long to get them that I figured I would order one, and I’m really thinking about what the right, appropriate next barrel for this thing is.

It’s a 308 26” 1:10 Match, and I could put the action in any other kind of chassis. I could do it for hunting or another precision cartrage, and I can really do anything, but I’m sort of at a loss about what I would do. I have a 6.5 CM Tikka with a couple of chassis,’ which is really nice. The real question is what cartridge I should really look at next. I dont reload yet so availability at human prices would be cool.

I love shooting at the range, but being on the East Coast near a metro center, getting anything that’s past 400 yards is pretty tough to do unless you’re traveling good distances. It’s not necessarily just a weekend, “Hey, I’m going to go shoot.” You have to plan it, but that’s not to say I wouldn’t do it. Maybe it’s really just a hunting barrel that goes on it. I’m just not sure, and I’m sort of at a loss, so I’m looking for ideas. Thanks for any info.

I think 6 or 25 CM would be the Easy Button especially if you’re looking at only Factory ammo. I love a 7-mm-08, but I don’t know if there’s enough separation between it and the 308 for you to notice a significant Improvement or difference.

A 284 Win would be cool as heck. However you’re not going to find any Factory ammo for that.

If you wanted a little heavier load for a bigger animals a 338 or 358 but also be cool. However, not real good offerings for factory ammo for either

I was thinking about the 6 Dasher but ammo is expensive although I could just bite the proverbial bullet

how is the 6mm gt cartrage?

More offerings than the dasher, but they are all Hornady. No one else makes Factory offerings at this point.

If you load it up it gives you more velocity than the ARC, but not as much as the creedmoor. Piet at Impact had a discussion. It turns out that in competition most people load their 6mm bullets up to roughly the same velocity no matter what the specific cartridge is.

Reportedly better feeding than the Dasher.

I would say a 6ARC or a 22ARC would be fun. Little recoil and decent range

Im almost thinking 6.5CM and sell the tikka and just get the 6.5 cm barrel

Had a short day with It at 100 yds to get It on paper and zeroed and It got to .4 MOA will have to have an extended range day next week. only had time to get on paper and shoot a few groups. First time with a Mil recticle
